Eastman’s Recreation Department has developed summer programs for children of all ages. Kid City for ages 4 and 5 includes instruction in tennis and swimming, as well as cooperative play. The All-Day Gang for ages 6 through 11 continues the tennis instruction and adds golf clinics, off-site trips, hikes and team-building programs. The Adventure Program for ages 12 through 14 offers weekly outdoor themes, such as biking, rock climbing and kayaking, both on and off site. And the Youth Conservation Corps allows older teens the chance to make positive changes in the community through outdoor work.
During school vacations, our Recreation staff organizes activities to keep children on the go. Cooking classes, bowling for an afternoon, or a trip to a local museum keep the children busy while Mom and Dad work or take some time to play as well.
Unorganized time is also important for busy minds. Children and families are always welcome at the South Cove Activity Center and the athletic area: basketball court, ball field, and sand volleyball court. Taking a long hike, swimming in the lake or shooting hoops with friends are great ways to exercise both the mind and body.
