The Eastman Benefit for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center was successful, with a full field for the golf tournament on June 27 and more than 150 people attending the auction and dessert party on June 26.
The calculation of this year’s donation are still in the process, but it appears that between $40,000 and $50,000 will be donated this year.
For the past 25 years, Eastman has supported the NCCC by hosting a golf tournament. Funds raised during this event have provided Norris Cotton with unrestricted money that would be otherwise mandated or regulated by some other agency for very specific research. Unrestricted money means that Norris Cotton can allocate funds from this tournament for research and programs they feel benefit our community and our community’s health issues the most.
Carol Moses, one of the event’s organizers, praised Bistro Nouveau at Eastman for the catering. “Bistro Nouveau outdid themselves at the dessert party, the grilled lunch at The Turn, and a fabulous array of hors d’oeuvres at the cocktail party after the tournament,” Moses said.
