The Center Presents is a community entertainment program in the heart of Eastman that offers a variety of performances on various Wednesday evenings from February through December. The Center Presents tries to offer diverse programs to appeal to the varied interests of our community members. Since its inception in 2007, programs have ranged from musical groups to travelogues, dance lessons to environmental presentations and much more.
While most programs are held Wednesday evenings beginning at 7:30 in the Draper Room at The Center at Eastman on Club House Lane, a program may occasionally be offered on a different day and/or time to accommodate an event, such as a dance, pre-holiday dinner, or nature walk. Most programs are free of charge and open to the public.
The Center Presents “committee” has been very pleased with the attendance and hopes that the public as well as Eastman Members continue to take advantage of these wonderful events. It is truly amazing to realize all the local talent that exists among us. If you haven’t yet come to a program, please join us to enjoy the remarkable presenters.
Programs are listed in the weekly Eastman Highlights e-newsletter, on the listserv, and in the Grantham News e-newsletter, as well as on flyers throughout Eastman and the greater community, and on signs at ECA’s main and north entrances.
We book our programs well in advance, but sometimes something comes to our attention short-term and we try to fit it into the schedule.
If you have ideas for programs you would like us to present, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love to hear from you.
Mary Niles is chair of Eastman’s The Center Presents.
Among the programs in 2019 were Of Rogues and Rascals with Simon Brooks, The North Country Chordsmen, Abe and Mary Lincoln reenactors, and A Time before New Hampshire with Michael Caduto.
